What are Digital Skills ?

 Digital Skills is the knowledge needed to complete everyday digital related tasks relevant to your job role. The core tasks can include connecting to internet, online safety, navigating websites, typing an email and joining an online video call . Technology has now increased in the workforce via smartphones, tablets, laptops and computer. Understanding the core digital skills will increase career opportunities and day to day tasks in the modern society.

Why is it important to learn?

Technology has expanded into every aspect of our current society. As the internet allowed friend and families to connect via video calls on social media platforms such as Facebook or WhatsApp, it didn't stop there. Technology has allowed for industries to communicate, collaborate and improve tasks.  

Examples:

• Companies requiring a client signature no longer require printed documents, mailing documents and waiting for signatures. Electronic Mail (EMAIL) is faster, cheaper and safer.

• Seeking for information no longer requires visiting a library, writing down information or checking out a book. Search Engine (GOOGLE) is faster.

• Driving to a destination for the first time and need directions. A paper map or stopping for direction along the way is no longer required. GPS and Web Mapping (GOOGLE MAPS) is safer, cheaper and easier. 

How to learn?
