Why is the program shorter this year?
We currently only have funding to run this program in the fall term, but we are hoping to run Pathways in the spring so stay tuned for updates!
What if I need to leave early one day?
We will let you know the schedule for each session. If the group is at Reinstein Woods, you can be picked up at the Education Center. If we are on a field trip, you can arrange a ride from the field trip site. If you have permission to drive to the program, you may be able to drive to the field trip sites as well. If you cannot arrange a ride, you must miss the session and make up the hours.
How many sessions can I miss?
Each student can miss a total of 6 hours throughout the school year. Missed hours will be unpaid. Students will have the opportunity to make up hours by attending Reinstein Woods events or assisting at Reinstein Woods outreach programs.
I have a sport or club that may meet on Wednesdays. Can I still apply?
Students who may have a conflicting activity during the school year can still apply. They cannot miss more than 6 hours of the program throughout the school year, but can make up hours (see above) and can attend part of a session.
I do not have a way to get home from the High School after the 5 pm drop-off. Can I still apply?
Please let us know during your interview if you can only participate if you are dropped off at another location (home, etc). We will consider making accommodations.
Can I do my homework during the program?
Unfortunately, there will not be time for homework during the sessions, but you will be done with the program by 5 pm.
Can I use my cell phone during the program?
Students will be permitted time to check phones during breaks, but phones should be kept out of sight during activities and presentations. Headphones are not to be worn unless we are traveling to a field trip location.
My student is participating in the program. How can I reach them?
Students will be permitted time to check phones during breaks. Reinstein Woods staff contact information will be shared with caregivers.
