No organization has the right to use official Pomperaug High School logos or information without following these procedures. Please use the form below to request adding an official account for your PHS student organization.
Pomperaug High School values social media as a tool to:
• Share school news and achievements
• Highlight athletics, clubs, and student life
• Engage families and the wider community
These guidelines apply to all official Pomperaug High School accounts (departments, athletics, clubs, student organizations).
👥 Account Management Expectations
Post regularly (minimum once per week during active seasons).
Use official Pomperaug High School logos, names, and colors.
Respect student privacy (FERPA and opt-out lists).
School administration may review or remove accounts/posts.
Accounts should be passed down to the next year's leaders.
Each year, before an account can begin posting, the Annual Social Media Account Agreement Form (linked below) must be completed.

Student achievements (with permission)
Event announcements, schedules, and recaps
Athletics updates and highlights
Staff spotlights and classroom stories
Positive partnerships with the community
❌ What Not to Post
Student grades, medical info, or disciplinary actions
Content that is discriminatory, harassing, offensive, or political
Rumors, speculation, or crisis details without approval
💡 Best Practices: Dos & Don’ts
✅ DO:
• Think before posting: Would I want a parent, college, or employer to see this?
• Be respectful, accurate, and professional.
• Use visuals and credit sources.
• Respond courteously to questions.
❌ DON’T:
• Share private student information.
• Use sarcasm, slang, or humor that may be misinterpreted.
• Delete negative comments unless they break policy (hate speech, profanity).
• Post while upset.
• Rely on social media as the only communication channel.
🚫 Consequences for Violations
Failure to follow guidelines may result in:
Removal of content
Loss of account privileges
Disciplinary action in line with school/district policy
