Student parking at Pomperaug is a privilege for juniors and seniors. Underclassmen are ineligible to park on campus. Please read the information below and note students will need to use their Region 15 account to complete the application form. Documents, including a driver’s license and current Connecticut DMV car registration (primary car and a second is optional), will need to be uploaded electronically.
The yearly parking fee is $100.00 (prorated by month) as determined by the Region 15 Board of Education. Parents may email Dr. Jones at pjones@region15.org with financial hardship concerns. No parking refunds are issued for illness, injury, or parking suspensions of an assigned parking space. No refunds are issued for dates in which an assigned parking space is unused by a student. Parents/guardians may relinquish a parking space for their student by emailing Heidi Szymanski at hszymanski@region15.org as the main office is not responsible for canceling assigned spaces.
Only seniors and juniors who currently have a driver’s license may apply for student parking. While spaces are not reserved for non-licensed students, students may apply during the school year for parking once they receive their driver’s license or temporary license. Specific parking lots or spaces are not guaranteed. Typically spaces are assigned beginning with the bowl lot, then the upper lot, followed by the tennis court lot and lower lot. Once all available parking spaces are assigned, remaining student applications will be placed on a waiting list.
To apply for student parking, students must complete the PHS Parking Application form (link below) and upload the required documents. The time stamp when the PHS Parking Application form is electronically submitted will be the order in which spaces are assigned. Only fully completed application forms with all attached current, required documentation will be eligible for an available space. As applications are processed, students will receive an email informing them whether they have received a space, need to resubmit portions of their application, or have been added to the waiting list.
Students who receive an email stating they have been assigned a parking space may come to the main office to receive their assignment. To receive their parking sticker students must remit payment for parking and turn in a signed copy of the attached PHS Parking Contract (link below and copies available in the main office). All information on the PHS Parking Contract must be clearly legible. Exact cash or a check made out to Pomperaug High School with the notation of “parking” in the memo are accepted forms of payment. All information on the PHS Parking Contract must be clearly legible. No student may park on campus until their PHS parking sticker is affixed to the lower passenger side front windshield. As described in the PHS Parking Contract and Student Handbook, student parking is a privilege which may be revoked by administration.
Please contact Mrs. Sandy Vas at svas@region15.org or the main office at 203-262-3200 if you have any questions regarding the parking application process for this school year.
