The Mathematics Department is committed to helping every student build a strong foundation and confidence in math. Students are encouraged to explain their thinking using both mathematical language and clear written and spoken communication.

They learn to identify important information, choose effective strategies, and reflect on their problem-solving process. This helps students become critical and creative thinkers in all math courses.

Students often work collaboratively at whiteboards around the room to solve problems, share ideas, and learn from one another. This approach is used across all math courses to promote active thinking and engagement while building skills that prepare them to participate responsibly in a global community. The department’s goal is to develop productive, responsible citizens who are confident learners and prepared to continue learning mathematics throughout their lives.
