Air Raid Shelters

Air Raid shelters were safe places for people to go if there was threat of a bomb. They were also called Anderson shelters. Cellars, basements and underground stations were used for people to take shelter.

 Some people had local community shelters made of metal and sunken into the ground that they used to hide in.
