The Blitz was a German bombing campaign that lasted for 57 nights. The German would bomb large cities like London, Plymouth  and many others because they would destroy factories and industries helping warfare. The Blitz only lasted for 57 nights but the bombing of England lasted for eight months. The Blitz took place in 1940. The Blitz caused the terrible evacuation of children all around the country and made people use things like shelters. More than 43000 homes were destroyed and up to 150 highly explosive bombs were dropped.
