during the summer heat.
All the sweat,
the heavy breathing,
the water stations.
All just for this day,
this marathon,
this very moment
on The Old Red Brick Road.

Finally, the last water station.
Just one more mile
until the finish line.
Finishing strong,
it’s good to know,
all that training
wasn’t for nothing.
