Work experience is an important part of the Year 10 curriculum. During the week of 18th – 22nd May 2026, all pupils will spend time in a workplace of their choice. This opportunity allows pupils to experience the world of work first-hand, develop employability skills, and begin thinking about future career pathways.
Work experience helps pupils to:
✅ Gain confidence and independence
✅ Develop communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
✅ Understand expectations in a professional environment
✅ Explore possible career interests and pathways
✅ Strengthen CVs, college, apprenticeship, or future job applications
Pupils are responsible for securing their own placements.
We encourage them to start early – the best opportunities are taken quickly.
Placements may be arranged through family contacts, local businesses, or organisations connected to pupils’ interests.
The school will provide guidance, letters, and support materials to help pupils approach employers professionally.
