Work Experience Placement Process
Work Experience Placement Process
1: All placement forms should be returned to Mrs Blackburn by
Friday 5th December.
2: Once we receive your work experience application form, we will check it and then forward it to Dudley EBP. They will contact the employer to confirm that the placement meets all required Health and Safety guidelines. They will also discuss the planned activities with the employer to ensure they are suitable.
3: You will be notified by email as soon as your placement is approved, and we will also inform your son/daughter.
4: If a placement is declined, we will notify you immediately. This can happen for a number of reasons, such as:
❌ The company not having the required level of insurance cover.
❌ The planned activities being too high risk
❌ The placement being outside of the approved area
❌ Dudley EBP being unable to contact or visit the placement provider
❌ Paperwork being submitted after the deadline
5: If Dudley EBP is unable to make contact with the employer, even after a visit attempt, the placement will be declined.
6: We will liaise with the employer regarding any specific support a pupil may require during their placement. With permission, medical details will also be shared with the employer to ensure your son/daughter is fully supported while on placement.
Before the placement begins, pupils are required to contact the company directly to:
✅Confirm attendance
✅Check start and finish times
✅Clarify lunchtime arrangements
✅Confirm clothing requirements
Please note: Some building sites may require specialist equipment, if you are in receipt of Free School Meals, please speak to us, as assistance with sourcing equipment can be provided.
