Welcome to my classroom! As a math and science teacher at Redeemer Lutheran High School, my mission is to nurture students' relationship with Christ through a greater understanding of God's amazing creation. God loves us so much that not only did He create this beautiful, mysterious world for us to enjoy, but He also sent His Son to pay the price for our sins so that we can be assured of eternal life with Him! I pray that as students gain a more in-depth understanding of how our world and universe work, they develop a greater sense of awe and love for our Creator!
About Me
Upon graduating from Penn State with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education (Biology), I entered the world of research. At the University of Pittsburgh, I designed and created retroviruses for use in various gene therapy projects, such as osteoarthritis and diabetes. I then moved to Automated Cell, a start-up biotechnology company, where our team worked to develop a biological therapy for melanoma. During this time, I also taught a Bioinformatics course at CCAC and earned 29 graduate credits in Information Science.
After 14 years in a lab, it was clear that God had other plans for me! I began my education career at Christ Lutheran School as an elementary teacher before moving to Redeemer Lutheran School to teach middle and high school. One of the best parts of being a Lutheran school teacher is that I had the opportunity to teach my own children and be a part of their graduation from RLHS!
My husband and I have been married for 33 years, and we have three grown children, a black cat, and a Cane Corso. I attend Redeemer Lutheran Church in Oakmont. When not planning lessons or grading papers, I love going to concerts, hiking in the woods, and eating sushi!
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises!
