“The only constant to life, is change.” - Charles Darwin
January is always a challenging month for parents as many of you navigate back to work and getting your children prepared for the new school year. There is potentially added pressure due to the desire to renew and have things different from the previous year. This can make January a challenging month and one that requires a strong mental fortitude as well as a flexible state of mind.
For the children, this is also a challenging time as they navigate their new class and friends. Being mindful of what you and your child/ren are going through, we all need to work together to create a safe environment for the children to navigate this inevitable period of change. We are all always here for you.
A reminder to please bring your child’s identification card when collecting in the afternoons. Teachers will not be allowed to collect children if identification cards are not shown. This is for your child’s safety.
If you do not have an identification card, please contact your child's class teacher to provide you with one.
We ask parents to please abide by the car park rules and to follow the painted arrows on the road to allow for easy-flowing traffic in one direction.
Please avoid stopping and dropping on the left-hand side of the gate and proceed to a parking spot to safely allow your child to exit the vehicle.
Who knew that a few chalk drawings and some road signs could turn a normal school day into an adventure! Well, this is exactly what happened at our ELS Bike Day last week Friday.
Before the day, each child was issued with their own personalised number plate, which formed part of the children's bike decorations. The children were simply ecstatic about being able to bring their very own bikes from home to school to ride in our JP car park. We even had our little Nest babies join in on the fun in their little wagons. The children were all delighted to receive their very own driver's license for the day.
Each child brought with them their safety gear to ensure and help reinforce road safety. No helmet no ride was our motto to keep everyone safe!
Bike riding is fantastic for early childhood development. It encourages core strength development, balance, eye-hand coordination, directionality awareness, problem-solving skills, self-regulation, and vestibular motion, to name but a few! From the littlest push bike to the biggest geared bike, the benefits of bike riding are endless. But the most important aspect is to have FUN!

Our ELS children will be taking part in our Read Aloud Day on Wednesday, 1st February. Each child is asked to come to school dressed in green, as they will be making a fun bookworm craft.
We ask each child to please bring along a book to donate to their classroom library in celebration of the day.
Please note that no picnic baskets are required for this day.
