Give I.T. a Rest

The Green team wishes you a restful break. Before you leave, we would like to remind you to please be sure that your smartboard will remain asleep for the entirety of the break helping to conserve energy and reduce our carbon footprint. We hope that this quick tutorial will allow you to turn the proximity feature off so that your smartboard doesn’t awaken from standby with the built in presence sensor that is installed.  The Smartboards must remain plugged in, to allow for any updates to be pushed from the IT department.

Press the  button that looks like a hamburger-

This will bring up a menu. Your goal is to highlight the " Setup "

Press the down arrow  button until “Setup” is highlighted.

Press the key that looks like this

Press the down arrow until the word “proximity” is highlighted

Press the “ + “ button to turn proximity off.

Press the button that looks like a  hamburger [  ]  again to get out of the menu

When you leave for break, please press the crescent moon button twice quickly to put the smartboard to sleep. This will allow it to remain asleep even if someone comes into your room and trips the motion detector. When you come back from break, you will need to awaken the board to use by touching the same crescent moon button. With proximity off, you can now put your smartboard to sleep at the end of the school day everyday or when not in use. If you have a tough time remembering this, it could be an assigned classroom job for a student.

Thank you for helping keep Brandywine Springs a great place to be!
