Design Part 3

Creating a Menu

Researching Kids Menus

We learned about kid's menus and said what we liked and what we didn't.

Researching Food Rules in Public Schools: "Nutritionally Adequate"

We learned that cafeterias have to have a balanced  meal with all the food groups.

Learning about Allergies

We learned that some allergies kids have at Red Bridge are eggplant, egg, nuts [coconut okay], dairy, gluten.

Testing it Out (aka Cooking Day)

At first, we had been looking at "Good Eggs" to create our dream menu because things have to be prepared quickly in a cafeteria. But then we looked at recipes and found a few that would be quick and easy to do and things that most people could have. We tested cooking them on Monday and most people liked most things, but there was one person who didn't like anything, so for our actual menu we made everything from Monday, plus sandwiches.
