We will be encouraging students to walk, scooter or cycle to school on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Watch out for our Travelwise Student Leaders who will be giving out some cool spot prizes.

If you walk, scooter or cycle to school on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday please grab a WOW from your class teacher. Put your name on it and put it in your class tub and hopefully you will win a spot prize if one of our Student Leaders catches you in the morning or pulls your name out of the tub.

In Term 3 we ran a successful Travelwise campaign to encourage as many students as possible to walk, cycle, scooter or park and walk to school on different days of the week. We chose Friday week 5, Monday week 6, Tuesday week 7, Wednesday week 8 and finished with Thursday week 9. This way we hoped to include every student that might only be able to sustainably travel to school one or two days week which might not be a campaign day.

We ran this as a competition between the communities and we are pleased to announce that the Orewa Beach Community was the winning community. Made up of rooms 1, 6 and 14 this community shared a fish and chips lunch as their prize.
