I&RS
Referral Process:
Parents, teachers, and staff members refer students who are struggling in school.
The I&RS team collects information from teachers, parents, and the student.
The I&RS team helps to develop a plan to support the teacher and other school staff members.
The team will review the student's progress at regular intervals, either continuing, modifying, or stopping the intervention plan.
The NJ Department of education requires all school districts to, "establish and implement a coordinated system in each school building for the planning and delivery of intervention and referral services that are designed to assist students who are experiencing learning, behavior, or health difficulties…" [N.J.A.C. 6A:16-7.1(a)];
