Core Knowledge Language Arts is a comprehensive language arts curriculum program for students in preschool through grade 6.
While teaching skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking, Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) also builds students’ knowledge and vocabulary in literature, history, geography, and science.
These are free decodable readers which follow the Core Knowledge Language Arts sequence for teaching phonemic awareness. If you go to the final two or three pages of each document, you will see the skills needed to decode the story. ‘Trick’ words are typically listed there as well if you want to preview anything with a student.
