School Activities

Summer Education Excursion 2023 @Chiayi County

On July 4, 2023, our students embarked on a summer educational tour in Chiayi County. We are grateful to our school principal, President Chung, for his all-out support and presence; our foreign English teacher, Mr. Duane, for designing the activity; Ms. Huang for organizing and supervising the entire tour; and Ms. Chan for providing additional assistance to our students through her storytelling about the places we visited, and also with the help of our senior student Chen. Our students had the opportunity to absorb knowledge from the Whitemen Toothpaste Factory Museum, the Solar Exploration Center, Hinoki Village, and the Chiayi Old Prison Museum, thereby acquiring new learning and insights.

Eco Tour

On January 31, 2023, Rende Junior High School students went on a guided tour to Taijian National Park. Our students had the chance to communicate with our foreign English teacher during the trip. In Qigu District, our students engaged in a range of activities, such as bird watching, visiting mangrove woods, and trekking around Salt Mountain. They also got the opportunity to create their own DIY salt jars. The students were able to learn new things, so the day was quite productive. There were cultural and language interactions between the students and the teaching staff, including our foreign English instructor, during the tour. Finally, the eco tour ended with happy faces and hearts!

Exploring Mangrove Forests

Our students learned about the many types of mangroves. They also learned how vital mangroves are to humans, animals, and the ecosystem. The tourist guide was really helpful; she knew both Mandarin and English and gave information about the many mangrove species. The students had a terrific time boating through the mangrove lagoons.

Watching Aquatic Birds

Our students had the chance to observe a variety of aquatic birds through a telescope, including the most well-known species, black-faced spoonbills. One of our students claimed that the black-faced spoonbill has some fairly distinctive characteristics, and we all agreed. Everyone also watched a short film on the bird, and everyone came to appreciate the rescue efforts made to save the black-faced spoonbills from extinction. Others were astonished when they saw small egrets, gray herons, European wigeons, and curlews relaxing on the wetlands.

Hiking around Salt Mountain

The students went for a walk around the grounds of the Qigu Recreation Center. They had no trouble climbing the salt mountain. They could feel the chilly blow of the wind on top of the mountain. They also talked with their friends, classmates, and teachers on multiple occasions. Our students were able to make their own DIY salt jars in addition to hiking the salt mountain. They were excited to be able to create their own one-of-a-kind artwork. They finished by telling their teachers about their salt jar design.

English Day Activity

A great way to practice English in a fun and exciting way in school could be to have a balloon relay game. And in this particular activity, we call it "jumping rabbits." Each student holds a balloon between their knees and passes it along to the next person in line until it reaches the end. The team that can make a full sentence using scrambled words and get the balloon to the finish line first wins. This is an enjoyable way for students to practice their English skills.

School Visit @STUST

On May 22, 2023, the students were warmly welcomed to the Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology. During the visit, the school provided a comprehensive tour of the campus and showed them many different applications of high-end technology. The students were able to make a weather glass, fly drones, play with an automatic table tennis serving machine, and more. Evidently, it was a day full of stimulating knowledge for the students. They all thoroughly enjoyed the school visit, and it was a great way for them to get a sense of what college life is like.
