Student Expectations

Students are expected to follow teacher virtual classroom policies.
Students are expected to keep cameras on unless arranged otherwise with the teacher.
Students are expected to maintain best practices for virtual learning sessions.
Students are expected to follow established daily routines for engaging in learning experiences.
Students are expected to identify a designated, appropriate space where they can work effectively and successfully without distractions.
Students are expected to complete assignments with integrity and academic honesty, doing their best work.
Students are expected to do their best to meet timelines, commitments, and due dates.
Students are expected to check Otus or other teacher communication formats daily.
Students are expected to communicate proactively with their teachers if they cannot meet deadlines or require additional support.
Students are expected to collaborate with and support their RVA peers in their learning.
Students are expected to complete all parts of the day.
Students are expected to comply with RCSD’s Acceptable Use Policy, including expectations for online etiquette.

Best practices for virtual learning sessions

Consider the environment behind you that can be seen in video chats and ensure there are no inappropriate images, materials, etc. for school.

Mute audio when entering chats.

Mute audio when not speaking.

Be appropriate and respectful in your actions.

Listen to the individual speaking.

Stay engaged throughout the lesson or activity.

Ensure that all work is your own.
