Designated ELD (D-ELD) will begin on Monday (9/11/23). As a reminder, Designated ELD is dedicated class time working with English Learners in small groups based on their ELPAC proficiency level. During D-ELD if you have EO’s in the room, they will need to be working independently.
See the list below for D-ELD resources:
Ellevation: (accessible through Clever) data on the ELPAC proficiency level, including the Overall Score and scores for each category (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking). Ellevation also has lessons and resources available by grade level and content. In Ellevation, click on Strategies and then Collections. In Collections, you can search lessons by grade level, subject, topics, and CCSS, NGSS, and ELD Standards.
The California ELD standards are aligned to CCSS content standards and describe the key knowledge, skills, and abilities that students who are learning English as a new language need in order to access, engage with, and achieve in grade-level academic content.
Practice Tests are available on elpac.org and can be used either as a guide of what students will be assessed on or you can administer the practice test next week as a pre-test to gauge the current needs of your English Learners.
Benchmark ELD & Integrated Units (TK-3) address language comprehension and include some strategies that can be used in Designated ELD: Language Functions (Pg 58) & ELPAC practice.
For questions regarding ELD please email or stop by Shanna’s office.
