Course Description: This professional learning will be the final installment in our Data Driven IEP development series. In this session teachers will review most recent feedback from the NYSED Correction Action Plan and how this effects their work as special education teachers. Additionally, teachers will deepen their understanding of how to use baseline data in the present levels of performance as it relates to supplementary aids/accommodations, test accommodations, and specialized transportation. Lastly, participants will understand how to report progress through compliant IEP progress notes embedded with data.

Course Name: SOMOS Integration: Stepping into SOMOS
Target Audience: World Language Teachers
Course Description: Unpacking SOMOS Level 1 Unit 2. This Superintendent’s Conference Day will be dedicated as time to embark on a guided self-discovery of the SOMOS curriculum resources. We will look at ALL the available materials to familiarize ourselves with everything that is available to us with the SOMOS curriculum. We will determine where the "campanadas” are, what the assessments look like, how long each unit is, read and figure out how the lessons are incorporated into the unit plans, learn how to find things in the shared drive, find similar/like materials in different units to understand how things are organized, look through the print packets, write a bullet plan and finally, decide what the 1st thing is that we are going to do with our students. We will share our bullet plans, our ideas for the first days of the coming school year, and what we can implement now until the end of this school year. We will compose some noticings and wonderings about the curriculum and materials for our guest speaker, Martina Bex, herself, for our May 12, 2022, Superintendent's Conference Day. This will be a fantastic opportunity to discover and discuss the SOMOS curriculum and all it has to offer!

Description: This informal session is optional for “CIT Interns” and should not supersede building-based or district-required programming. This is an opportunity for our newest colleagues to connect via Zoom (from home if you wish), to celebrate your hard work on behalf of your students and to reflect on your professional growth. We can support each other by acknowledging the extraordinary challenges of this year, and discussing what lies ahead for you in the RCSD.
