All mammals are warm-blooded so that they can adapt to all types of environments. By having warm blood, mammals can control their body temperature in cold environments like the arctic or hot like the desert. Also, mammals use lungs to breathe air. They are vertebrate animals that have a back bone or a spine. They also have hair or fur on their bodies. Babies drink milk from their moms. This is called nursing. Mammals have the ability to find food, water, and shelter to survive. All mammals are born alive babies except for two: the platypus and echidna who lay eggs, but as soon the babies hatch they drink milk from the mom.
