Fourth grade student created a design using shapes and or rulers. They chose one color to make tints and shades of the color with black and white tempera. After our entire paper was painted and our monochromatic painting was complete, we wrote poems inspired by the color they used to paint with. We brainstormed how a color might be described as either a sensory experience or with an emotion. If we got stuck we discussed it with our peers. Everyone had great ideas!

Students created skyscrapers, trees ,vehicles, storefronts and homes out of painted papers we made in class. They added details using paper scraps and sharpie marker.
