REMINDER: All PL must be approved by your GC and RCSD before they occur. Proposals for PDI hours will NOT be accepted after the fact per RCSD’s Office of Professional Learning.
Online PDI Approval Process:
Head School Secretary receives PDI Proposal from applicant, checks for completion and emails it to Governance Council
The PDI Proposal form is linked to the PL Approvals Voting Record and emailed to all GC Members
Each member will be given one week to give input/discuss and/or cast their ballot.
This one week online approval process counts as one "meeting"
The ballot of the individual members will indicate the vote of their constituency by a majority.
One member ballot is the minimum needed to inform the vote of that constituency.
There must be a minimum of 4 constituencies voting to bind a proposal during the first "meeting"
If, at the end of the one week window:
4 constituencies have votes, the approval will pass/fail according to the votes of those participating constituencies.
4 constituencies have voted, but one group of constituency ballots includes a tie, the approval will be tabled until the next face to face meeting, as a constituency vote can not be deduced.
4 constituencies have not voted, the active constituencies who have not participated will be counted as an approval.
If a vote is tabled for 2 meetings a vote can bind on the third meeting without the required number of constituencies.
Once a proposal is approved or denied, the outcome is reported to the Head School Secretary and the application is then sent downtown for approval.
Face to Face PDI Approval Process
Head School Secretary receives PDI Proposal from applicant, checks for completion and emails it to Governance Council.
The PDI Proposal form is linked to the PL Approvals Voting Record
PDI will be presented and discussed.
If 4 constituencies are present at the meeting and the PDI proposal is ready it will be moved to the floor for a vote.
If 4 constituencies are not present at the face to face meeting it will follow the online PDI Approval Process occurring as a second "meeting".
If a vote is tabled for 2 meetings a vote can bind on the third meeting without the required number of constituencies.
Once a proposal is approved or denied, the outcome is reported to the Head School Secretary and the application is then sent downtown for approval
