EMB@RC stands for Exploration, Motivation and Boundlessness @ Renaissance College and this year it will take place between November 9th-13th, 2026. EMB@RC Week is a crucial component of the learning experience for our students as it gives them an opportunity to spend some time learning outside of the classroom, to take a break from academic studies, develop holistically and participate in an activity which becomes part of their IB CAS portfolio. All students participate in EMB@RC Week and the activities provide our students with a platform to develop their experiential learning and appreciate life outside the walls of our school.
Please note that EMB@RC Week is a compulsory part of education at Renaissance College, therefore, it is expected that all students attend the entirety of the week.

Sign-Up Instructions
Students will be emailed a Google Form on Monday March 16th, 2026 and should indicate their top 3 preferences. For each selection, students will include a short citation explaining their interest in their chosen activity.
The Google Form will close on Friday March 20th, 2026 at 4:00pm. All student responses will be considered as long as they are submitted before the deadline. Selection will not be on a first-come, first-served basis. The selection process will be based on student citations, balanced group placement, and staffing requirements.
Students will be notified of their assigned trip after the Easter Holidays (subject to change pending flight availability and student sign ups).
International Trips - For students assigned to overseas trips, you will be emailed instructions on how to pay your deposit. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable and if payment is not received on time, student will automatically forfeit their spot on the trip. Depending on the cost of the trip, students will need to pay either:
HK$ 4,000 (Bali, Cambodia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal and Yunnan)
HK$ 6,000 (London and Austria)
Final payment for International Trips will be due on Sept 11th, 2026.
Hong Kong Trips - For students participating in Hong Kong based trips, no deposit is required. Full payment for the activity will be due by Sept 11th, 2026. More information will be sent to students and families via email closer to the commencement of EMB@RC Week.

Decision Making Tips
Students are encouraged to choose activities that challenge them personally and provide opportunities for new experiences. Avoid selecting activities solely based on what your peers choose—this is a great chance to meet a variety of people and connect with those who share your interests.
Before finalizing your selections on the Google Form, be sure to discuss your choices with your parents or guardians. Once submitted, changes can only be made in cases of a valid emergency.
While we cannot guarantee your top choice, we will do our best to accommodate your interests based on the three options you provide. If none of your selected activities are available, we will reach out to discuss alternative options.

Digital Detox
All trips we offer are designed to encourage students to digitally detox, engage fully, and be active. These experiences help develop stronger friendships, foster presence in the moment, and promote personal growth. We want students to immerse themselves in activities and adventures, creating fantastic memories and bonds with their peers, unburdened by technology.
While mobile phones are not prohibited, we and the providers, ask students to minimise their use during EMB@RC week. For some trips, phones may be collected by staff for part of/the whole day.
Please note that phones are not to be used for emergency contact with parents. In the unlikely event of an emergency, RCHK staff chaperoning the trip will handle communication with parents.
