Memoirs in Motion
English
Learners will be required to produce a Memoir in a variety of forms (such as poem, comic book or article).
Design
Learners will be required to use the design cycle to adapt their English Memoir to produce a stop motion animation on their Memory / Memoir.
Interdisciplinary Unit
Students focus consciously on the relationship between the medium, purpose and audience which promotes a more considered interpretation of the text (through English) and a deeper understanding of the design process (through Design). They will become more self aware of how events in their lives can develop their identity and can learn how to express themselves, feelings and ideas through a variety of forms. Learners will adapt their written memoir in English to a visual form in Design.Â
Finally, using knowledge and skills from English and Design, students will create a movie poster based on their Memoir in Motion ahead of the Oscars.
