Raymond Central Parent Expectations
In order for Raymond Central to be as successful as possible we need to all be on the same page. There are several expectations that the program has of our parents to ensure we are all moving in the same direction.
Be Positive. Negativity is contagious, but so is positivity. Look for the good in each situation. Do not get caught up in rumors or gossip that would harm the program or individuals.
Be supportive of your child. Players are going to have bad days. Whether that is in athletics or in life. Help your player through the tough times by being supportive and reinforce hard work and effort.
Be supportive of your child’s teammates. Each and every player on the team will be expected to work hard and give great effort. Reward them by being excited for their success and empathetic for their struggles.
Be supportive of the school. This is your community. Be proud of the school that you have. Support all levels and groups in the school. We are a family and we must treat each other that way.
Be supportive of the administration. The administrators are making decisions that are for the betterment of the entire school. Support their decisions and know that they are working to make this school better every day.
Be supportive of the coaches. Every coach that is in this program will work hard for your child. It will be the expectation that coaches are positive and constantly trying to help your player get better every day. Every decision made will be for the good of the individual, but even more so, the good of the program.
Be professional. If your child has an issue or problem with something they are going through, have them first talk to their Head Coach. If they do not feel the issue was resolved parents may contact the Head Coach and include AD on communication. Playing time will never be discussed. Coaches will give ways for your child to improve in certain areas. We will not talk about other players. We will focus on how to help your child improve as a player and as an individual.
Do not try to talk to a coach or administrator the same day as a competition. Rational heads prevail and there will be no discussions after a competitive event. Allow your head to be cleared emotionally before contacting the school. This will ensure that all discussions are clearly thought out and concerns are valid.
Operate through facts. Rumors are detrimental to team building and success. If you do not know the facts, DO NOT spread the information.
These are expectations that the Raymond Central Athletic Program has of its parents. We will treat every athlete as fairly and equally as possible. Coaches will make all decisions on playing time and strategy. Please support the program and school. You may not agree with everything that is happening. You should, however, support these young people to help them become better athletes and better people. Thank you for your help and support.
