A group of friends from college who have a strong affinity for Filipino food and culture established KAPIT ALAYA. They grew up enjoying traditional delicacies that had been handed down through generations. Still, they noticed that younger people were starting to lose interest in some of these delicacies, such as Kapit. Determined to revive this renowned Kapampangan delicacy, they founded KAPIT ALAYA, a brand that blends tradition, freedom, and fun.
The brand name "KAPIT ALAYA" represents two meanings that combine to express their mission: Kapit represents their traditional treat while Alaya draws on the word Malaya for freedom and Apalaya which honors the culinary heirloom of Pampanga. What started as a simple idea turned into a passion project, allowing them to share the joy and tradition of the delicacy, Kapit, with the younger generation. Through KAPIT ALAYA, they hope to keep this timeless delicacy alive, one bite at a time.Â
