Tier 1
Signs of Suicide (SOS) Program: RBHS has been partnering with Elyssa's Mission to provide this evidence based suicide prevention program to all freshmen since 2022. SOS teaches students how to identify signs of depression and suicide in themselves and their peers, and walks them through resources they have available at school and steps they can take to get help.
Classroom-wide SEL lessons: The school social workers and school psychologists provide SEL lessons on a wide range of SEL topics (e.g., anxiety, healthy relationships, conflict resolution) to all freshmen, to increase awareness, share resources, and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health.
Tier 2
Small Groups: The school social workers and psychologists facilitate small groups (all grade levels), based on SEL needs identified on the Panorama screener, administered to students twice a year. The size of these groups range from 2-8 students. Small group topics in the past have included anxiety, grief/loss, social skills, and emotional regulation.
Tier 3
Individual Support: Students can access social workers, counselors, and psychologists for individual support on an as needed basis.
Tapestry Program
This is an on-site advocacy program, provided by West 40 (local service agency that provides supports and services to 38 school districts in West Cook County), to some of our most at-risk students. Students are referred to the Tapestry Program by problem solving teams after all other Tier 1 and 2 supports and interventions have been exhausted.Tapestry advocates form strong connections with the students and their families, providing them the emotional support needed to improve their behavior, attendance and academics.
