At RB, MTSS serves as the foundational framework for matching academic and social emotional interventions to student needs.
What is MTSS?
It’s a framework that utilizes data based decision making to identify at risk students and match them with evidence based interventions. It’s a proactive approach to identifying at-risk students with varying levels of need. These needs can include academic, social emotional, or both. Key components of the MTSS framework at RBHS include:
Administering academic (STAR assessment in reading and math) and social emotional screeners (Panorama) 3 times/year, to identify at-risk students and monitor progress
Data meetings with relevant team members, to match student needs with appropriate levels of intervention/support.
Ongoing data collection to monitor student progress and effectiveness of interventions.
