Have you ever tried to play a sport but struggled? Here are the 5 hardest Olympic sports.
The 5th hardest Olympic sport is Rowing because of the endurance and strength it requires. Rowing is performed in multiple boat classes, including singles, doubles, pairs, fours, and eights. The goal of this sport is to complete a set distance or race against other teams. To succeed in this sport you have to have cooperation with your team and coordination.
The 4th hardest Olympic sport is water polo because of the endurance, speed, and strength you have to have to compete. In water polo you are forced to play quarters, each quarter you are forced to play 8 minutes straight while still having to push through the force of the water.
Coming in at 3rd is Boxing, because of the agility, power, endurance, and overall toughness you have to have. Another reason Boxing is the 3rd hardest Olympic sport is because you have to have a great reaction time to block incoming attacks from the opposing person. To make it as fair as possible Boxing is divided into weight groups.
At number 2, the decathlon is a grueling two-day event that requires athletes to compete in 10 different track and field events, including the 100-meter dash, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400-meter run, 110-meter hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, javelin throw, and 1500-meter run. This competition is the absolute definition of endurance because the average track meet lasts about 4+ hours but in the decathlon it usually takes 2 consecutive days. During a track meet you can compete in a max of 4 different events, compared to the 10 you have to compete in in the decathlon.
At the top of the list is Gymnastics, one of the reasons behind it is because it requires large amounts of strength, balance, agility, grace, and flexibility. Like track, Olympic competitors can compete in many events, Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam, and Floor Exercise. All Gymnastic events are scored from 1 to 10.
Those are the top 5 olympic sports so now you will have an idea of how these are played and how to train for them.
