EJHS Wrestling Hits the Mat

The wrestling team has been practicing to get on the mat! In this article, you will read about the most recent match, the offseason, and the upcoming matches. The wrestlers are prepared and ready to win. They have worked hard all pre-season, fought hard in their first match, and are preparing for the next match. Would you want to be an Edgewood wrestler?

The Edgewood Mustangs have some tough teams that they will have to face this season. EJHS wrestler Ezra Cappa says, “There are two teams that I want to go up against OV and Indian Creek.” The Edgewood Mustangs in total have 13 matches. The Mustangs have 6 home matches against Tri-North, Bachelor, Owen Valley, JWMS, and Two Tournaments. You may ask how they prepare for these matches. Cappa says, “We practice five days a week and we practice hard.” This is why Ezra Is a champion. But I think that the team is ready.

The Edgewood Mustangs put in a lot of hard work during the pre-season! With five practices a week and a mix of weightlifting and wrestling. The Team practiced at the high school and sometimes at the here. They must have had to practice very hard to get better. Mr.Sparks said, “Winners work and that's what we did.” It's great that they had a couple of tournaments to compete in as well. I'm sure the team coach, Mr. Sparks, was proud of their efforts.

The first match was successful, The preseason went well, and the team has quite a year. The Mustangs competed hard in their first match. The team has been preparing for the next match and has been practicing after school Till 4:30, five days a week. And has some tough matches coming up.
