Trayce Jackson Davis, a spectacular basketball player and IU alumni, has had a very successful career at IU, and in the NBA. In this article you will learn all about Trayce Jackson Davis and his story.
Trayce Jackson Davis, also known as TJD, Came to IU in 2019. TJD was a 4-star recruit from Greenwood and was projected to do very well in his college and NBA career, and he has done just that. With a college career average of 17.9 points and 9.1 rebounds, IU fans were very happy to have TJD on their team. The only thing that Trayce was lacking though, was his shooting. Trayce Jackson Davis never made a three pointer in his whole college career. However, he was able to make this up with his scoring in the paint.
Trayce's identity goes further back than his basketball career. Trayce’s dad, Dale Davis, was drafted to the NBA at the thirteenth pick of the first round in the 1991 draft. Dale had a pretty decent NBA career, averaging a steady 5 to 10 points a game throughout his career. Trayce on the other hand, even though drafted later in the second round, is projected to surpass his dad in overall success. Trayce’s mom, Karla Jackson, was a huge part of Trayce’s life growing up. Karla was the main parent in the household for a lot of TJD’s childhood. He thanks her very much for this too.
Jackson was drafted to the Golden State Warriors in the 57th pick of the second round of the 2023 NBA draft, a pick of which the Washington Wizards held first but then traded it to Golden State. Trayce is having a pretty good first year, averaging a steady 7.9 points and a block a game this season. In one game, Giannis Antetokounmpo, was blocked twice by TJD and dunked on by him too. Giannis is a former MVP and is definitely in thee running for it this year too. Being able to block somebody at Giannis’s caliber of skill, is a very hard thing to do. This just shows Trayce Jackson Davis’s potential even more than before. Trayce knew this too. When TJD was drafted so late, he tweeted,” Ya’ll regret it… I promise you.” I definitely bet the wizards are feeling that regret right now.
