Many people, basically everyone in the school, has had missing work in the past or currently. Missing work is a big problem not only for the students but also the guardian(s) of the kid and the teachers. It affects grades and the ability to do other things. How do students manage getting missing assignments and what can they do to stop it?
Many students suffer from school stress including homework, assignments, and grades. In the perspective of a middle school student they get assigned a lot of homework! 8 classes total with homework in almost all of them if not all of them. Tests are sometimes very hard for a lot of students, a student at EJHS in 6th grade says, “I do get very anxious…I get jittery, and that’s why I don’t do so well.” If this is a big problem for you or someone you know here are some tips that could POSSIBLY help you. One thing that could help is just relaxing and forgetting about all the really stressful thoughts that are possibly overflowing your mind so that you can’t focus. And something else that many people know of and some people use is the counting down from 10 breathing method. This is when a person counts down from ten while taking deep breaths in and out to relieve stress and different emotions. As this website says, “Breath Counting Meditation is a strength-building exercise for the mind.”
This is a number chart to 10; the count to 10 breathing method.
If you thought about people with missing assignments, who do you think of? How do you think they are handling all the assignments that they haven’t completed? Lots of people, not just students, but lots of people struggle from getting things done. Whether it’s forgetting about it or they think of it differently, or give up. Something that could help is leaving sticky notes. Yes, sticky notes! This seems like a very simple thing to do, because it is! Try it yourself, it probably helps! Many people have thought of this and just haven’t tried it. Someone who has thought of this, an EJHS student, Alana Armstrong says, “Sticky notes can help a lot, whether you need to finish an assignment, or you just want to make yourself a simple to do list.” It’s overwhelming to get many things done and to remember to do them! Leave sticky notes with a task you have to do, and your brain will get some remembrance of what you have to do and to complete it!
If you have missing assignments maybe you will try these methods! Or you need them to remember things or calm yourself down. If you think this could help someone tell them about it! It could help in so many ways!
