Have you heard of the restaurant Vivencia? This is a new restaurant and it is already loved by many people. You should definitely check out this restaurant, but not before you get some information about it. Keep reading to hear more about this new restaurant and a bit about the owner!
During the afternoon at Vivencia, the most popular food ordered is the Pabellon, it is a very popular Venezuelan dish. It has white rice, black beans, sweet plantains, corn patties, and shredded beef which has more flavor than most shredded beef. The style of food that they sell is mostly Latin American and Venezuelan. Joana, the assistant manager’s says, “My favorite is probably the Mexican sopes. They are really delicious, it's kind of like a corn dopa and it has beans and you can add either steak, chorizo, or shredded chicken. Then it has the sauce on top, some crumble cheese, sour cream, and pickled onions.”
Something that makes this restaurant special to Joana is having a home outside of home, and just being able to eat food from her own home country, speak Spanish, and listen to Spanish music. Mostly because there are not a lot of restaurants around that are Venezuelan or South American and so it is important to have a place where she can connect with people from her own culture. Something that would help this business in the future is marketing a bit more outside of the college area. Joana says, “I don't really plan on working at a restaurant in the future, but I have definitely learned a lot about interacting with people, and being able to give them a good experience. And just having those thinking skills and those interacting skills with other people.”
Mey Cristobal is the owner of Vivencia. He also owns a couple of other restaurants on the other side of town including the El Ranchero by Urban Air. Mey Cristobal is a very important person to many including his niece Jasmine Cooper, a student from Edgewood Junior highschool. Mey Cristobal is normally up and about checking on his restaurants and making sure everything is running smoothly. Mey Cristobal was an immigrant from Mexico, and he transferred over to America. It's important to him to be running multiple Mexican businesses. Working with something related to Mexico can remind him of home, and he can also talk in Spanish to the others that work there and know how to speak that language.
We hope you enjoyed reading this article! Vivencia is a very enjoyable place to eat and to spend time with your family. Randi Jackson says, “ I think it's a beautiful restaurant with delicious traditional Venezuelan and Mexican food.” You should definitely visit this place sometime to enjoy their terrific meals!
