Have you ever really got to see what the robotics leaders are all about? They are such awesome people and have so much more behind them. They really do love and thrive at what they do and are such fun people! Keep reading to find out more about these inspiring people!
The coaches of robotics are Mrs. Hanson and Mrs. Grimes, both teachers at EJHS. “My second oldest daughter loves robotics and building and that kind of stuff and they needed another adult so I volunteered,“ Mrs. Hanson answered when asked what inspired her to become a Robotics leader. There are lots of things that are challenging about robotics but Mrs. Hanson thinks the best part of robotics is that while the games have gotten harder, the students have used their creativity to work with it. “Mr. Siegelin sent out an email six years ago and no one wanted to do it but I didn’t want kids to go without robots so I decided to sign up,” Mrs. Grimes commented during our interview. In Mrs. Grimes' perspective, nothing has changed about robotics, apart from the games changing each year.

Mrs. Hanson's favorite part of the competitions are seeing people use teamwork and being a in control. Mrs. Hanson thinks that from last year we have improved on being more focused and determined, while Mrs. Grimes thinks that we have improved on our scores. Mrs. Hanson says that she thinks the most stressful part of robotics is having to set a deadline because you have so many ideas of what you think you could do better with your robot but then we just have to tell you to drive. “You guys, the kids are amazing,” Mrs. Grimes responded when asked what her favorite part of being a robotics leader is.
Mrs. Grimes has been teaching robotics for six years and Mrs. Hanson has been teaching robotics for about 2 years. They both have many more years to come with great opportunities ahead! I hope you enjoyed this article and have learned lots more about the leaders of robotics to see how awesome they really are!
