Did you know that there is more than one way to get chocolate? Of course you could just make it yourself or you could skip the work and go to the Bloomington Chocolate Company!
The idea for this small shop started with Linda Armes, the owner of the Bloomington Chocolate Company. It all started when Armes was on a Food Network contest and won. Everyone around her started pushing her to start a business and she started taking chocolate classes learning everything there is to know about chocolate. The business finally launched in 2014 and has been running ever since.
Of course, there are many people that help with this company. First you have the sales rep. They get other companies to buy their products and sell them there. The cashier is at the register. Then you have the packaging crew and decorators. Finally, there are the chocolatiers which make the chocolate. All of these jobs come together and make all the different products in the store.
There are many steps that go into making chocolate. The first step is to put the chocolate liquid in a mold and spread it through the whole thing. Next you fill the chocolate shell with the filling and put it in the fridge or freezer. At the Bloomington Chocolate Company, there are many freezers and fridges. You wait 2 days until you can put it all together to make a full truffle. All of this can be difficult to do. Linda Armes said, “Chocolate is like working with people.” What she means by this is that chocolate can be really hard to work with one day and be perfect the next.
Some people at our school have heard of the Bloomington Chocolate Company and what they do. Bryson Whaley, a sixth grader, has heard of the Bloomington Chocolate Company but has not been there. “I think they are pretty well known.” He says in a hallway interview. Of course there are some other people in our school that have never heard of this amazing company. Emma Curtis and Vada Cowden have never heard of this shop. Even though they have never heard of it, they still know what they do! Both of them said make chocolate and that is exactly what they do.
In conclusion, this chocolate shop is an amazing place for adults, seniors, and kids. The list can go on and on. With the combination of beautiful chocolates and love, you can make business!
