Looking for a new book series to read that has a little bit of romance and lots of suspense? Then The Selection will be a great one for you!

The Selection is about in a world when the heir of the crown reaches the marrying age, a fierce competition called “The Selection'' takes place. Thirty-five women of age that are randomly selected across the kingdom are picked to compete for the prince's hand. The main character, America Singer, is the perspective the story follows. Unlike all of the other girls selected, America does not want to be picked. If she was picked, it would mean she's turning her back on her secret love back home. But if she is, the money she will receive would help her family tremendously. So what will she do?

“Charming, captivating, and filled with just the right amount of swoon!” Kerstien White, New York Times bestselling author of the Paranormalcy trilogy, says. The Selection has a rating of a 4.6/ 5. It was first published on April 24, 2012 and it has a total of 328 pages. It also includes a sneak peek on the second book in the series, The Prince. Sadly Kiera Cass will not be making any more books in the selection series so there are currently only five books in the series.

Overall, I think The Selection is a really good book series and you should definitely check it out! “It was really good and it was really well written and kept me on my toes,” Jaselyn Garcia says. A review online says ”For the first few chapters, I was unsure about this book because it kind of seemed like a basic romance with a predictable plot, but once I got a little further in, it COMPLETELY got me. I can barely put it down!” Alexis Critchlow says “The Selection is a really good book series. I like it because the author puts a lot of detail into her work.” I would give this book a rating of five out of five stars because it has a lot of suspense and it makes you want to keep reading more.
