Lots of people around the world love movies, as well as movie series. Just like lots of people love the Hunger Games series, with all of the twists and turns throughout the compelling movies with times of sadness, happiness, stress, fright, drama, and love. The Hunger Games movie franchise began in 2012 and the latest movie, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, was released in late 2023. All of the movies are absolutely incredible, so I’m here to give my movie review on all of the Hunger Games movies.
The Hunger Games
As many people say, the original is always better than the sequel. I completely agree with that. The original was such a great movie. We got introduced to the amazing and skilled characters, people got to witness all of the districts so we can understand what setting the movie takes place in and what time. The first movie is supposedly taking place in the Northeast region and the timeline was supposed to be 300 years into the future, and since it was 2012 when the first movie came out, the year would be 2312. “I think the first movie is my favorite movie because I feel like it has the best script plan.” says Carmen Frye. After the first Hunger Games tournament that Katniss and Peeta BOTH won, there will be another one after that and every year so on. Overall, I rate this movie a 10/10.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
The Hunger Games two, Catching Fire, was an amazing movie out of the five and was where after a year of living life carefree, the stress and fear came back around the corner. As Peeta and Katniss watched their TVs, they both stood shocked in their own houses as they cried in fear. The TV stated that Peeta and Katniss had to return back into the Hunger Games and compete again, as well as all of the other winners from the past years. It was a way more detailed and weather-related crazy movie where the victors had to face severe weather. Overall, I rate this move a 9/10.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay pt.1
The Hunger Games three was so heroic and compelling. This movie shows that Katniss will never give up. She was so determined through the movie and was so courageous for people she didn’t even know. It was sad to see Peeta in the awful state he was in. After the second Hunger Games for Peeta and Katniss, Katniss had shot an arrow in the barrier and the whole biome-like forest exploded and many victors survived. Then every victor was transported into a center, everyone else was normal except for Peeta, he was traumatized when he was under Snow’s control to the point where he wanted to kill Katniss, he was then chained to a bed. Overall, I rate this movie an 8/10.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay pt.2
The Hunger Games three was just like the third movie. They were attempting the same mission and in both movies all of the characters were caring, brave, determined, and heroic. Fans around the world loved how all, or I meant to say, most, of the characters never gave up on helping the districts along with many others. In this movie a team lead by Katniss Everdeen called the Mockingjay, continues their quest to kill president Snow or at least banish him from his role as president. President Coin stands high up towering down on the crowd of people gathered. Katniss learned that President Coin was the reason for her sister, Prim’s, death. So at Snow’s execution, Katniss aimed her arrow from her bow at Snow but then right as she was about to shoot him, she angled her arrow higher, killing a short-term president Coin as the crowd leapt forward and killed Snow themselves. Overall, I rate this movie an 8/10.
Sadly I have not had the chance to watch the latest movie, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, but I’m sure it was just as amazing as the past movies. A study shows that the most liked Hunger Games movie was, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Following with the second most liked Hunger Games movie, The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes, in third place: The Hunger Games, fourth place: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, and the fifth most liked Hunger Games movie is: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. I think that each movie is absolutely incredible with the dialogue, the acting, the actors and actresses, and the filmmakers, for without them these amazing movies would have never been created.
