Taylor Swift, arguably the most iconic singer-songwriter of the decade, brought her 3-hour Eras tour movie production to Disney Plus on March 14th, 2024 at 9 pm EST. Her production is roughly 3 hours long and has 4 added songs to her setlist. This era tour has many people watching and is a fantastic representation of her shows.
Who is Taylor Swift anyway? Her name has been top of the headlines for about a year now after starting her Eras tour last March and not only wowing the crowd with her passion for music but also wowing the public with her endurance for toughing it out through torrential downpours and the heat of many places. Taylor started her career with her hit song Tim McGraw. After a genre change and a POP album 1989 Swift gave up her dream of being a country music artist and concluded that being a singer-songwriter is better than not being a singer-songwriter. She came out with many more albums that consist of many different genres and have something almost everyone is guaranteed to like.
This is swift before the Golden globes.
Taylor has about 243 songs but with the era's tour, she narrowed it down to 40 that she performed with the additional 4 songs not included in the movie theater showing of the movie. Her 4 added songs consist of Maroon, Death by a Thousand Cuts, You Are in Love, and I Can See You Were added to the set list of the movie. They are used to "surprise” her fans and it really works.

What is the movie for? The movie is set in California where she performs her albums in a certain order, starting with Lover and ending with Midnight, her new album. The movie shows her performance from different angles than what people couldn't see at the tour which is a great experience to watch in the comfort of your home. It also is costless to watch on Disney+, which plays a big part because the tickets can cost from $49 to $449 which is a ton of money. Ella Johnson says, “Even though I like Taylor Swift, I am not going to just say it was good because of that. It is amazing, the sets, the dancing, the production, it’s just overall a great movie.’’ This shows that with even less money to save, the tour is still enjoyable.
The in-person Eras tour is expensive and not all fans can afford the high prices or can't get tickets. With her popularity growing tickets sell faster and faster for some people to just resell them in the long run. That's why Swift came up with the idea to make a 3-hour long production filled with 44 songs for fans unable to attend to listen to. It also is fun to watch it whenever you feel like it! Ty Wadsworth says, “ I may not be a Swiftie, but the movie is really well worth my time to see her perform,” so make sure you are trying to watch the new Taylor Swift eras tour movie on Disney+!
