Taylor Swift fans have been anticipating the launch of Taylor’s new album, The Tortured Poets Department, and on midnight of April 19, it finally arrived. Since its arrival, lot’s of information has also been sent out. Here's a good debrief of all the interviews, info, and news about The Tortured Poets Department.
First of all, what kind of songs are in the album? In total there are 31 songs. Some of the most popular include, I Can Do It With A Broken Heart, Fortnight and I Can Fix Him. Similarly, Fortnight broke a Spotify record for most streams in one day, breaking her own previous record created with the launch of 1989 (Taylors version). The album in total also broke a record for best selling album in 2024 so far.

Secondly, the album launched April 19 with 16 expected songs, however fans were surprised to find out that 15 extra songs were released with the album making it a double album. Music artists such as Post Malone, Florence and The Machine featured in the album. The album has been said to be describing break ups and past relationships but others have made deeper analogies about the album.
As of reviews Tortured Poets Department has 4.1 stars and 1260 Google reviews. About One review saying “Taylor Swift has always been my number 1. So has her 7th album, 'Lover' which was released back in 2019. I truly never would have believed 'The Tortured Poets Department' would take that spot. That is until I heard the first note of 'Fortnight' which has ever since changed my life.”. On the other hand some reviews haven’t been great, saying, “With the critical acclaim of her previous studio albums, Folklore, Evermore and Midnights, I was expecting more from Swift”.
