Star Wars V.S. Harry Potter

IS STAR WARS BETTER THAN HARRY POTTER??

“Luke, I am your father.” That is one of the most famous lines from the single greatest movie series of all time, and it is definitely better than its rival, Harry Potter. Lincoln Martone, a 6th grader at EJHS agrees with me, he says, “Star wars is a great series of movies and they are all pretty good.” He is right. This is obvious because Luke Skywalker would beat Harry Potter in a fight, Harry Potter is a Rip-off of Star Wars, Star Wars is more revolutionary than Harry Potter, Star Wars Made more money, Star Wars appeals to a wider audience, and Star Wars is rated better. You shall soon see I am right.

There is obvious proof that Luke could take down Harry in 2 minutes max. Luke owns one of the most powerful weapons in the galaxy. According to Quora Luke would blast him back with the force and then break Harry’s wand leaving Harry defenseless

The link to that article is down at the very bottom of this article. The article shows an example of what would happen if Luke Skywalker encountered Harry Potter, and they got into a fight. If you read the article and are still not convinced I have a few more things.

Luke Skywalker has one of the most powerful weapons of all time, his lightsaber.
Luke Skywalker fought Darth Vader, won, and was the only one who was able to turn Darth Vader back to the light. Obi-Wan Kenobi (his master) destroyed the left side, and Ahsoka Tano (his apprentice) destroyed the right side, but Luke (his son) removed the helmet fully and turned him.

Luke blew up the most powerful ship to exist, The Death Star
Luke plowed through the entire platoon of Dark Troopers and Luke did it in close to the time it took Din Djarin to beat one

All of these achievements and the article make it obvious that Luke would take Harry down quickly.

Next, I have proof that Harry Potter is a rip-off of Star Wars. First of all, Luke was raised by his Aunt and Uncle for his safety, and so was Harry. Coincidence? I think not. Another thing that Harry Potter took from Star Wars is that both Luke and Harry’s mentors died in a less than epic/dramatic way. By this I mean that Darth Vader Kills Obi-Wan Kenobi when Obi-Wan lets him. Dumbledore lets Snape use the killing curse on him, and doesn’t even try to save himself. And even after they both die they both can communicate to them while being dead. Even if you want to put Yoda as Luke’s main mentor the same goes for him. Yoda dies from old age on Dagobah, and he can communicate with Luke too! And they both died so Luke/Harry could escape. Jude McCormack, another EJHS 6th grader agrees with me, he says, “I like Star Wars more because it is a lot more original than Harry Potter. Harry Potter takes the classic story of a young apprentice, with an original spin onto it. Star Wars has a lot more original features because instead of taking a twist on a classic story, it tells a completely different story all together, and makes it a lot more enjoyable because I don't know what is coming next.” A few more things that the Wizarding World took from Star Wars are, both Luke and Harry’s mentors are very wise and very old, but it doesn't stop them from committing to training Luke/Harry. Luke and Harry both never completed their training, but they are both able to battle and defeat the most powerful villains in their world. With Star Wars being made before Harry Potter, these examples make Harry Potter a british knock-off of Star Wars.

After that, I have that Star Wars was revolutionary at the time the first movie was made. Star Wars a New Hope premiered in 1977 and there weren't that many movies like that at the time. My Papa told me, “That and Jaws were a big deal.”

Furthermore, I have that Star Wars makes more money. I mean that in the past and currently. Star Wars is the 2nd highest grossing movie series of all time. Star Wars grossed $10.32 billion. The Wizarding World is the 3rd highest. Wizarding World grossed $9.66 billion. Star Wars also makes more in the merchandise category. Star Wars makes $5-$7 billion per year on merchandise, while Harry Potter only makes $1-$2 billion per year. That's a pretty big gap. I have a few possible reasons why this happens. One possibility is that Star Wars merch is cooler than Harry Potter’s. One of Star Wars coolest toys is the Lightsaber. This is way more unique than a wand. The Jedi and their weapon is very unique and was not thought of before the mid 1970s. The idea of a wizard however has been around since the 1500s. In a story a wizard’s weapon is either a wand or a staff. These weapons have also been around since the dawn of wizards. Another possibility is that the Harry Potter merch is slacking. The example of this that I most commonly think of is the Funko Pops. Star Wars Funko Pops are bobble heads. Harry Potter Funko Pops are just figures. What is even more maddening is that the Harry Potter Funko Pops could very easily be made into bobble heads. Another good thing about Star Wars Funko Pops is that there are series of Star Wars Funko Pops such as the Red Saber Series and the Bounty Hunter series. There aren't any special Harry Potter Funko Pop Series.

Then, I have that Star Wars appeals to a wider audience. Star Wars has 9 main movies plus, Rogue one, Solo, and lesser known clone wars animated movie. Star Wars shows include, Kenobi, Ahsoka, The Bad Batch, The Clone Wars, Rebels, The Book of Boba Fett, Andor, Tales of the Jedi, and The Mandalorian. Don’t worry gamers, You might be in the same spot as Mason McCarty, an EJHS 6th grader. He says, “I started to like Star Wars after playing the Lego Star Wars games.” Star Wars video games include, Star Wars battlefront 1 and 2, Star Wars jedi fallen order, Star Wars squadrons, Vader Immortal 1, 2 and 3, Star Wars Republic Commando, Star Wars the force unleashed, And Lego Star Wars the Skywalker saga. Star Wars also has some lesser known comic series such as, Son of Dathomir, Star Wars the High Republic, and Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures. Star Wars even has novels too. It might surprise you that Star Wars has more novels than Harry Potter. Star Wars has 3 separate trilogies of the High republic novel versions. That makes 9 Star Wars Novels, Star Wars has another Novel Called, “BrotherHood ''. Which talks about the relationship between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. BrotherHood is a canon novel meaning that it is part of the real main Star Wars timeline. Star Wars even has more music soundtracks to listen to. There are only 8 Harry potter movies and 3 fantastic beasts movies for a total of 11 wizarding world movies. Harry Potter only has a dozen or less games and Star Wars is knocking at 4 dozen. Star Wars has way more things to keep you entertained.

FInally, I have That Star Wars is rated better. I mean this in 2 ways. First I mean that Star Wars is rated better on rotten tomatoes. Star Wars’ average Rotten Tomatoes score is 78 out of 100, and Harry Potter’s average score is 76 out of 100. The other thing I mean is that younger kids can watch Star Wars. 5 of the 11 Star Wars movies are rated PG and 4 of 11 wizarding world movies are rated PG. The other 6 Star Wars movies are PG-13 and the other 7 wizarding world movies are PG-13. This means that more little kids can watch more Star Wars movies.

All of These reasons make Star Wars 4.000 times better than Harry Potter and make Star Wars the single greatest movie series of all time.

Now I gotta go watch some Star Wars.
