Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Knuckles tv show.

2024 is going to be a big year for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie franchise. WIth the 3rd movie debuting in December, and a TV series following one of our favorite characters, Knuckles.
The Knuckles series will be released on April 26th 2024. It will be a 6 episode series, with all episodes being released binge style. (meaning they all get released at once. Making for a perfect 6 hour long binge session.) It seems that the Sonic the Hedgehog movie franchise wants to get up there with the big level movie sagas, Like Star Wars and Marvel, by doing TV shows. The show will follow Knuckles the Echidna and local Police officer Wade Whipple, as Knuckles teaches Wade the ways of an Echidna warrior. The rumored villain is Pachacamac. Paramount has not done a great job advertising Knuckles, the only advertising that they did was run an ad in the super bowl. Other than that the ads for it have been pretty much exclusive to paramount+. With only about a third of EJHS 6th graders saying that they knew about this show. And a little less than half of the people are excited about it. Ty Wadsworth, an EJHS 6th Grader says, “I didn’t know Knuckles was getting a Tv show, but it should be good.” The show is similar to the 1st sonic movie if you think about it. It will feature Knuckles bonding with Wade, just like Sonic did with Tom Wachowski in the first Sonic film. This teases at a Taills miniseries where he could bond with a human. Possibly Tom’s wife Maddie, or Maddie’s sister Rachel. All the episodes of Knuckles will be able to stream on paramount+.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3’s theatrical release date will be December 20th of 2024. Jim Carrey who played Dr Eggman/Robotnik in the first 2 films, had announced his retirement. He is now coming back to play eggman/robotnik again. He may have to back out of retirement even more to play eggman/robotnik in future sonic movies. Fans have been designing possible movie posters for Sonic 4, 5, and 6. This film has grown a lot of ambition since Shadow was teased in the Sonic 2 post credit scene. Shadow will likely follow a similar ark to Knuckles, where he is a villian, and then he leaves to go on his own. Project Shadow is a fan film that was recently released by João Filipe Santiago. The film is set up to introduce Rouge the Bat, a character who is often seen working with Shadow. Rumors of Amy Rose the Hedgehog, Metal Sonic, Silver, and the Chaotix are going around as well. However only a few of those might appear in sonic 3, others of them might be saved for sonic,4,5, or 6. When you look up the sonic 3 cast, Hayden Christensen has an unnamed character towards the top of the list (meaning that he will play an important character.) That could be Shadow, or Silver, or another character. Just about all of the major characters from Sonic 2 are going to be returning. Sonic 3’s path to being 2024’s number 1 movie is very tough. In March alone 3 big movies were released. Those were Godzilla x Kong the New Empire, Ghostbusters Frozen Empire, and Kung Fu Panda 4. In June inside out 2 will come out, and in July we will see the release of Despicable Me 4, and Deadpool and Wolverine. All of these movies will be contenders, as will sonic 3. With Sonic 3 coming out at the end of December it will end the year with a bang in the movies category. It does have an advantage over the Super Mario movie 2, because it won't come out until 2026. With a three year gap, momentum will go down. Sonic 4 is expected to arrive in 2026, which is the same year. Sonicś momentum right now is clearly higher than Mario´s Tate Robertson, an EJHS 6th grader says, “ I'm really excited to see the Sonic 3 movie, but I think that the Knuckles show will be even better!”
Shadow was teased in the post credit scene of sonic 2 and will play an important role in the third movie.
