If you haven't ever heard of Buckees, you are missing out on a whole lot. Buckees is the world's largest gas station located in a lot of states. These consist of Tennessee, Texas, Georgia, Kentucky, Florida, Alabama, Missouri, South Carolina, and Colorado. They are all far away from each other but you should definitely go to at least one.
For starters, they have 50 stalls and 50 urinals in the men's restrooms and 100 stalls in the women's restroom. If that doesn't convince you I don't know what will because the outside is 3 times bigger than the bathrooms. Speaking of a hundred, they have over 100 gas pumps.
They sell almost everything you can think of from a foam baseball to a giant plushie! Now, the prices. Prices aren't really that bad. You can get a onesie for $25.00 and a sweatshirt for $20. Compared to most big attractions, these are some pretty good prices! One bad thing about the store is that it looks like the airport scene from Home Alone. If you haven't seen the movie, they are running through a busy airport but checkout only takes around 2-5 minutes.
In 1981, Arch Aplin opened buckees up to the public for the first time in the small town of Lake Jackson, Texas. Buckees became popular in the year 2003 with their new branded t-shirts and plushies for sale. Aplin's nickname was “Beaver”, inspiring him to make a gas station from his nickname. Buckees also has around 7,100 cars visited per day! Buckees also makes around 1.5 million dollars a year and to work there you get paid big money. A grocery manager makes around $60,000 a year with the cash employers making 50,000 grand a year. That's how much the teacher makes, if not way more.
Buckees never closes! You could go on vacation and stop by and have it completely to yourself. Another cool thing about Buckees is that you can get any drink refill for $2.49 which is another really good deal! The sad thing about Buckees is that we have ZERO in our state. They are all so far away to travel and get things. Most people just get things off of Amazon and it's annoying because they never went.
