Elemental is a great movie that was just put onto Disney Plus and many other streaming services! It teaches many valuable life skills such as being a ¨beautifully animated fable about the immigrant experience,¨ according to common sense media. Another user from Common Sense Media stated, ¨Loved the messages around interracial /ethnic couples, and how some families accept and encourage their kids to be who they are while others expect them to fit in the mold and follow in their foot steps.¨
The message of Elemental is a truly amazing one that follows a lot of unspoken rules about what makes the perfect Disney movie. It is fun, heart-warming, a little romantic, and a perfect movie for your family to enjoy with a bowl of popcorn and your favorite candy. Elemental shows great life lessons and the characters teach kids and viewers lots of important messages. One 5 star review on Rotten Tomatoes stated, ¨Elemental is one of the most soulful and compassionate movies to come out of Pixar in recent years.¨ Another 5 star review stated, ¨Elemental is visually amazing and a wonderful storyline. I am in love with this movie!¨
Pixar loved releasing the movie Elemental, but it has gotten a lot of criticism from viewers recently. A one star review stated, ¨I went into this movie, expect a C tier level movie at most. All trailers and clips made this movie look like it would be okay. I was thoroughly shocked and taken aback when I realized this was by far the worst movie I have ever seen in my whole life.¨ another one star review stated, ¨The storyline was just no. The main character was a red flag and if there was any character development at all in the movie, it would be better. But there wasn't.¨
Many students at EJHS have also watched Elemental and have strong opinions about it. Bricen Collins, a 7th grader at EJHS stated, ¨I feel like it represents things that kids movies shouldn't be sharing.¨ Kinley Butler, a 7th grader at EJHS, stated, ¨I loved the movie and it is an amazing option for kids and families for an amazing movie night!¨
Overall Elemental has had mixed opinions but it is still a movie worth watching to see where you stand in the argument! Are you pro-Elemental or not?
