Fortnight is a game that was created July 21, 2017. Fortnight grew in popularity in August of 2017. Fortnight grew in popularity on September 6 2017.
I think that fortnight is overrated, I think this because it is addictive. I have noticed that kids I know keep playing fortnight all day. I have seen my friends start playing first thing in the morning. Their whole day is filled with fortnight playing even skipping eating. If they have to take a shower, because their mom makes them, they end up going back to play the game. Most kids I know don’t go outside to enjoy the weather. Outside it could be 80 degrees but they choose to waste the day inside playing this game.
I believe Fortnight is overrated because players would rather be playing Fortnight instead of spending time with family or friends. Each day they choose to do it all over again. It seems they are living under a rock only with their gaming setup. The player is so focused on the game that something serious could happen around them but they wouldn’t notice or everyone could leave and they wouldn’t notice that they were home alone.
My second reason is that Fortnight constantly gives the player mood swings. For example, a player could have just eliminated someone and believes they are safe only to get a random headshot 30 seconds later. Another thing is that a player could lose all of the stuff they spent all day collecting. I have heard kids screaming in rage over the Xbox or PC shutting off or their handheld controller dying when they are just about to win.
Julia Schliesser said, “Fortnight is overrated because I’ve just seen better games with more things to do.” I agree with her. I know of more educational or just more fun video games. Another reason I agree with Julia’s statement is that many people get bullied playing fortnight. This happens because the other players online will make fun of weaker players.
Jude McCormick said, “I think that Fortnite is overrated. Ever since Fortnite was released, it has slowly been declining in popularity even when they keep releasing new seasons and chapters, it’s just not appealing to me in the slightest.” I agree with Jude. I have noticed the same people who always played Fortnight are the only ones excited about a new season or update. It seems not a lot of new people are joining.
In conclusion, I think that fortnight is not as great as they say it is because it is addictive, gives people too many mood swings, and the players avoid spending time with friends and family. This is why I believe Fortnight is overrated.
