Note for before you read: Man’s best friend is not said to disclude females. It is a classic title that means mankind, not just men.
So, I bet you have heard the term “Man’s best friend”, but why do dogs deserve it? All throughout time, dogs have been faithful to their title. I think they deserve it because they’ve saved people's lives on many occasions, dogs have unconditional love, and they’re very loyal.
My first reason is that they’ve saved many peoples’ lives. Once, a guide dog protected a man and his son from a speeding car. They were walking to school, when a car came speeding at them. The dog shoved them out of the way, but took all of the blow. The dog died a short bit later. The man and child made it because their dog gave its life.
These are a Man's best friend.
My second reason is that dogs have unconditional love. They will love you no matter what you are going through. If you have a dog, you understand that when you get home, they run right to your side to greet you. They are also proven to be empathetic. They will be right there to comfort you. You should be there for them too.
My third and final reason that they deserve the title is because they are very loyal. Once, a dog named Dudley was in his home when the house lit on fire. The dog risked its life to alert its unaware owner. Because of Dudley, a dog, the owner got out unharmed. Another reason they prove as loyal is that once, a dog saved a kid from a cougar attack. The kid was just outside when a cougar jumped out at him! The dog took actoin and got to the cougar before it could reach the kid. The dog fought the cougar until it left. This is yet another example of dogs saving our lives and proving their loyalty.
Along with saving lives, these dogs are also cute!
Overall, dogs completely deserve to be called man’s best friend. Because of their determination and loyalty, many lives have been saved. They bring joy to us each and every day. Next time you see a dog walking, playing, or maybe saving someone's life, think about all that they do for us.
