Gotta catch ‘em all! The Pokemon catchphrase is a classic, and is known by all true Pokemon lovers. Later on, you’ll see some of the best of the best, amazing characters in the world of Pokemon. First up..
Snorlax! This sleepy giant hails from Kanto, the first region to be created in Pokemon. Snorlax is a normal type who has moves like Body Slam, Rest, and Yawn. Originally, this Pokemon was a one Pokemon evolution, but in other regions they made Munchlax, which evolves into this big beauty. This Pokemon is a master at eating and sleeping, but it is still really strong!. It’s Pokedex entry says, “It is not satisfied unless it eats over 880 pounds of food every day. When it is done, it goes promptly to sleep.” (Kind of lazy).
Dragonite! This orange dragon-type Kantonian Pokemon is in a close second place. This strong Pokemon can take a while to evolve from Dratini, Dragonair, and finally it’s present form. (Lance, the dragon-type Elite Four member of Kanto had to do this very thing.) This Pokemon is a mysterious one, though. It’s Pokedex entry says that, “It is said that this Pokemon lives somewhere in the sea and that it flies. However, these are only rumors.” Although it’s a dragon type, this Pokemon can use some non-dragon type moves, like Fire Punch and Thunder Wave. That seems interesting!
Coming in hot! Third place! It’s Charizard! This flame-throwing Pokemon is number six in the Pokedex, and, like the two other Pokemon already mentioned, it is Kantonian. But make no mistake! This Pokemon is not only seen in Kanto. This is the Galar region champion’s top Pokemon. It has two Mega Evolution forms, and can Gigantimax. It is so strong that it can even best Water type Pokemon, which are super effective against it! Its Pokedex entry says, “It spits fire hot enough to melt boulders. It may cause forest fires by blowing flames.” Such strength!
Gyarados is a super strong Pokemon that evolved from something very weak..Magikarp! This is one of the most drastic changes in Pokemon evolution. From the debatably worst and weakest Pokemon to this! Gyarados will give waves of attacks to its opponent. Hydro Pump! Hurricane! Even the ice-type move, Ice Fang!
Aerodactyl made its first appearance being revived on Cinnabar Island in, yes, the Kanto region! As a fossil, it was found, and they are extremely rare! Its fossil was called “Old Amber” in the Pokemon games. It does not have any evolutions, besides its Mega Evolution form. Even so, it is really cool and really strong!
Koraidon is the first non-Kantonian to appear here, and it comes from Paldea, the newest region in the Pokemon universe. It actually came from the past by time machine, and is the primevil form of Cyzlizar, also a new Pokemon in Paldea. Koraidon’s Pokedex says, “This seems to be the Winged King mentioned in an old expedition journal. It was said to have split the land with its bare fists.” This Pokemon also has a future counterpart called Miraidon, who also got to the present via time machine.
Kangaskhan is trumping up! This “maternal” Pokemon is both caring and strong in battle! Its Pokedex entry says, “Although it’s carrying its baby in a pouch on its belly, Kangaskhan is swift on its feet. It intimidates its opponents with quick jabs.” It is a brownish color, and is obviously based off of a kangaroo.
The four-armed Machamp is back at it! The evolution of Machoke is extremely strong, and also comes from Kanto. “It quickly swings its four arms to rock its opponents with ceaseless punches and chops from all angles.” This is a Pokemon that belongs to Bruno of the Kantonian Elite Four. It’s first evolution can pick up a hundred adults and throw them..no exaggeration! This Pokemon uses its four arms to lash out with moves like Cross Chop, Knock Off, and Seismic Toss.
Nidoking will come into a battle with frightful attacks like Megahorn, Thrash, and Earth Power. It evolves from Nidorino, which evolves from a Nidoran male. Nidoking’s female counterpart, Nidoqueen evolves from Nidorina, which evolves from a female Nidoran. The Pokemon is heavily covered in natural armor and is a menacing thing to battle.
The tenth place Pokemon is extremely fun..Gengar! This ghost-poison type always has a smile on its face..but usually because it's causing mischief! Its Pokedex says that “on the night of a full moon, if shadows move on their own and laugh, it must be Gengar’s doing.” It uses many scary moves like Dream Eater, Hex, Dark Pulse, and Payback. This Pokemon has both a Mega Evolution and a Gigantamax form. It’s Gigantamax’s Pokedex says, “If you stand in front of its mouth, you’ll hear your loved ones’ voices calling out to you.” This Pokemon’s first evolution is Gastly, which evolves into Haunter.
These Pokemon make great fusions as well. For example, you should see a Charizard-Gyarados, or a double Dragonite!
There are many more amazing Pokemon in the world, and there will be more to come, but these are the best Pokemon of the present age. You gotta catch ‘em all!
