Have you ever taken a PE class? Well PE is a way for students to get physical activity. In my opinion every student should have P.E. class and this is why: Research shows only 28 percent of the United States adults follow the healthy guidelines of 150 minutes of aerobics and two days of strength training per week. All people in the world NEED exercise otherwise they will become unhealthy. By exercising you burn calories which convert into energy you need to process things for school and daily life, so you will be more prepared and awake for the school day.“It’s good to have physical activity because even if kids can’t exercise at home they can at school.”-Drew Figg
Some people believe that exercise is something that isn’t needed but studies show that by exercising it can provide 35%-42% mortality reduction. One reason students should have gym is that it will strengthen their hearts to reduce the amounts of deaths due to heart disease. Currently, heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S. Another reason why students should have gym is that someone who is athletic might need to find a sport to pursue but doesn’t know which sport to do. Gym is a great place to try different sports without having to join a team. At EJHS we have a weight room where you can work out during the gym class. This place is where you can build muscle which helps people who play sports and people who don’t. Matthew Rouker says, “I think that everybody should have P.E. because it’s important to exercise frequently.”
Some people argue that if you aren’t good at the things you do in gym class that you will get bullied but as you get more into the rhythm of going to gym class you will burn extra weight and get better at the sports and activities you are bad at. Therefore you will not get bullied.
That is why every student should have Physical education in school.
