Mcdonalds is a very favored fast food restaurant but is it actually that good? Cambrie Narey says, “I used to eat McDonald's a lot and when I got a blood test at the doctors they told me I was unhealthy and McDonald could have been a cause for that.” Mcdonald's is not as cool as it seems. We think this because it is unsanitary, it has roaches and uses child labor.

Over the years, McDonald's has raised concerns about the quality and healthiness of its food. From reports of deep-fried chicken heads found in meals to excessive amounts of salt in their menu items. A student from EJHS said, “There was something chunky in my chicken nugget.” Also, the ingredients used in their products, such as the artificial flavoring in their ice cream and the high calorie and sodium content in their salads, have contributed to negative understandings of McDonald's. Reports of unsanitary conditions, such as the presence of fecal matter in the play areas, have also raised serious health and safety concerns. These factors highlight the reasons why many question the overall quality and healthiness of McDonald's offerings.
So, as we’ve said, some McDonald's restaurants have had incidents with roaches. I’ve done research, and several employees have quit because of the unsanitary conditions. Some students also quit going because of some problems. One EJHS student says, “My family refused to eat at the McDonalds in Ellettsville because of the cockroaches” So, many McDonald's locations have had problems with cleanliness. If McDonalds wants more customers, they should get rid of the roaches.

Child labor is and has always been an important topic. “McDonald’s most recent child labor infraction came to light last month. The U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hours Division fined the operator of five Pennsylvania McDonald’s for making dozens of children aged 14 and 15 work for more hours than are allowed under federal law.” Restaurant Dive states. This happened on 12/18/23 which wasn’t that long ago.
In conclusion, McDonald's may be a popular fast-food restaurant, but it is not as good as it seems. The quality and healthiness of their food have been questioned, and reports of unsanitary conditions in some locations have raised serious health and safety concerns. Additionally, the use of child labor has been a recurring issue for the company. All these factors combined suggest that McDonald's may not be the best option for those looking for a healthy and safe fast food experience.
